MukendiFest is the Rio Grande Valley's biggest free family block party — a full day of music, culture, community, and joy on the shores of Tres Lagos Park in McAllen. Hosted by Junior & Maria Mukendi, this event is built on one simple belief: the best moments in life should be free.

No tickets. No admission. Just 1,200+ families and friends showing up for one unforgettable Saturday in the RGV.

Start the day grounded. We're hosting a free outdoor pilates class right at Tres Lagos Park — lake views, fresh air, and good energy to set the tone for MukendiFest 2026. All levels welcome. Space is limited, so register to lock in your spot.

Yes — 100% free. No tickets, no registration, no admission of any kind. MukendiFest is open to every family in the Rio Grande Valley and beyond. We believe the best community moments should cost nothing.
No tickets. No RSVP required. Just show up to Tres Lagos Park in McAllen, TX on Saturday, August 8, anytime between 3PM and 9PM. Gates are open to everyone.
Tres Lagos Park is a beautiful lakeside park in McAllen, Texas — one of the most scenic spots in the entire RGV. Search "Tres Lagos Park McAllen TX" in Google Maps or Apple Maps for directions. Exact address details will be pinned on our social media closer to the event date.
Yes, parking is available near Tres Lagos Park. We recommend arriving early — especially if you want to catch the opening activities. Volunteers will be on-site to help direct traffic and parking.
Absolutely — MukendiFest is built for the whole family. We have a dedicated Kids Zone with age-appropriate activities, free haircuts for kids, 150 free backpack giveaways, and plenty of food. The Lake Lantern Finale at the end of the night is something children will remember forever.
MukendiFest 2026 runs from 3PM to 9PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The evening closes with our Lake Lantern Finale over the water at Tres Lagos — you absolutely do not want to leave early and miss it.
Yes! Food vendors will be on-site throughout the entire event. Bring your appetite and your wallet — individual vendor prices apply for food purchases. The event itself remains 100% free.
Vendor stalls are available for $35 each — includes a tent, table, and chairs. Scroll down to the Vendors section of this page and fill out the inquiry form. Stalls are limited to 34 total, so apply early. Inquiries go to info@mukendifest.com.
We'd love your help! Scroll down to the Volunteer section of this page and fill out the application. We need people for setup, the kids zone, vendor market check-in, parking, the info booth, and teardown. Volunteers receive a MukendiFest shirt and get to participate in the Lake Lantern Finale.
Yes — MukendiFest is organized by RGV Gives Back, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All sponsorships are fully tax-deductible and official IRS-compliant donation receipts are provided to every sponsor. Every dollar supports the mission of serving and uplifting the Rio Grande Valley community.
We plan for South Texas weather — but in the event of severe weather concerns, updates will be posted immediately to @mukendifest on Instagram and TikTok. Always check our socials on the day of the event for the most current status. We're committed to the safest, most fun event possible.
